Shocked,
humbled and honored beyond belief
Many of you know what a troubled life I led before becoming a Christian in 1981... either by knowing me personally or through my book, "Once Life Matters." Therefore, you will be just as shocked as I am to find out my old high school,
Williamsville South High School has me listed amongst its'
"Notable Alumni" for founding Marty Angelo Ministries.
This is truly a miracle and an example of how God can take a wayward soul and turn it around for His glory.
I was so lost and confused back in high school that the caption under my yearbook photo predicted me to go on to "lead the Mafia in Chicago.” Some legacy! My parents were heartbroken by that remark. I thought it was funny mainly because nothing in my life at that point really mattered to me. I just did not care about anything, anybody, or what anyone said about me.
However, once Jesus Christ came into my life in 1981, changed me from the inside, and revealed His true plan and purpose for my life I finally knew my life really did matter. It was all about doing things now for His glory and certainly not for mine.
For my former high school to recognize me in this capacity brings joyful tears to my eyes knowing it sees value in all that God has done to me and through me to help others.
I am forever grateful to be honored amongst the six other notable alumni out of the thousands of other Williamsville South High School graduates whom many I am sure are much more worthy.
I accept this honor. However, I have to give all the praise and glory to Jesus Christ... for without Him, I know I would either still be rotting away in an old prison cell or dead.
