Healing
In The Hog Pen
Author - Dana Hepworth - Foreword -
Rev. Mickey Evans
A poetic inner healing journey of a
present day prodigal son.
In the eyes of the world, Dana Hepworth
had the appearance of a successful businessman. Privately however,
Dana battled alcoholism, drug addiction and manic depression for 31
years. One day he found himself in a dirty old hop pen. That was
the day his healing began! This is a journal of Dana's inner healing
from the pain and guilt that started his downward spiral into a world of
addiction and mental illness. It is the true story of a present day
prodigal son's journey back into the loving arms of his heavenly
Father. A Father who has been patiently watching and waiting for
His lost son to return home.
Endorsements
Dana's experience of faith, freedom and
fulfillment beyond hard trials, drugs and inner confusion, are distilled
here into a beautiful tapestry of hope and God's grace for all who seek
it when pain and devastation have taken their toll. - Jack W. Hayford,
Litt.D - Pastor and Chancellor - The Church of The Way, The King's
Seminary, Van Nuys, California.
Dana's testimony in word and poetry
brings inspiration and hope for all. It is the story of the
prodigal son over again in a 2000 version. It is profitable to to
read for all, but especially for those who feel there is no hope.
Thank God for Dana and his testimony. - Peter Lord, Pastor, Author;
Hearing God, Soul Care, Turkey and Eagles.
The insight Dana Hepworth shares
through his poetry is vital to any form of recovery and relevant to all
who struggle with life-controlling issues. I recommend this work for
anyone seeking a spiritual base for recovery and encouragement in the
midst of personal trials. - John Glenn, B.A., M.A. Author, Executive

reality of a life transformed from darkness to light by the grace of
God. Comfort and true hope await all of us for the healing journey
called recovery. - Jean LaCour, PhD., CAPP, Dean: N.E.T. International

FOREWORD - excerpt
....Healing in the Hog Pen is a gospel
of Good News to a global community of alcoholics and drug addicts whoa
re "sick of being sick" and tired of "eating the
husk that the swine die eat." It is a message of hope and each poem
becomes a road sign on the road to recovery that leads prodigal sons and
daughters back to Father's House. Those who "listen" carefully
to the dialogue of a repentant son in the arms of a living forgiving
father will hear a personal invitation to join the party at Papa's house
and enjoy the Angelic Choir who sing when "one lost sinner is found
and returned to his family".....
....Since his graduation from Dunklin
Memorial Camp recovery program, Dana has been actively sharing his
faith in men's ministries, recovery groups and counseling centers. These
aftercare groups do not encourage "drunk-a-logs", like people
driving down the road looking only in the rear view mirror of the past
addictions. They are more like caravans of ex-slaves who have left the
land of bondage and are on the way to stake out new homesteads in the
"Promised Land". Those who join then can share their
inheritance; those who spurn this great invitation can still find
employment in the therapeutic atmosphere of the hog pen.
"The party is still going on at the Father's Hose and you
are invited to the celebration!" - Rev. Mickey Evans, Founder of Dunklin
Memorial Camp
